Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan recently took on the persona of Ashwatthama, his character from the upcoming film ‘Kalki 2898 AD’, to inspire the Indian cricket team ahead of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024.
In a special video message shared by the official social media handles of ‘Kalki 2898 AD’, Bachchan urged the 15 selected cricketers to give their best in the upcoming tournament. With the iconic line, “Ye mahayudh hai, ab hoja tu taiyaar (This is a war, get ready for it),” Bachchan’s powerful poetry aimed to motivate the players. He encouraged them to embody bravery, shape their destiny, and showcase their strength on the field.
Accompanied by the evocative background music of ‘Kalki 2898 AD’, the video featured visuals of current players like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Hardik Pandya, as well as glimpses of former players like Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Harbhajan Singh celebrating victories on the cricket field.
