Barnes Fragrance Fair – Saturday 17 May 2025 – The Candy Perfume Boy

Barnes Fragrance Fair is returning on Saturday 17 May 2025 and it’s bigger than ever. If you’re not familiar with the fair, it was created in 2023 by Amanda Carr, one half of popular fragrance blog We Wear Perfume, and aims to celebrate the importance of fragrance in our everyday lives. Now in its third year, Barnes has even more to offer, with more brands, more talks, and more workshops. It’s going to be great.
The fair runs from 09:30-17:00 at the Barnes Green Centre, with talks and workshops hosted at nearby venues (full details here). I’ll most definitely be there but if you’re on the fence about going I’d like to try and convince you by telling you exactly why you should absolutely attend (other than to hang out with me, of course). So here we go: four reasons why you most definitely should be at Barnes Fragrance fair this year.
I’m not being hyperbolic when I say that there is a veritable cornucopia of fragrant talks scheduled for this year’s fair covering a wide range of topics and hosted by a fantastic array of speakers. You can hear fragrance journalist Alice du Parcq interviewing Sali Hughes about her life in scent and you can attend a morning show hosted by On the Scent podcasters Nicola Bonn and Suzy Nightingale. There’s also a panel discussion on what fragrance means to men and boys hosted by Haydn Williams (host of the Man in the Mirror Podcast), not to mention a scented walk and much more. Rumour has it there will also be goody bags at the talks…

Barnes will also be home to a number of fragrance workshops this year. 4160 Tuesdays founder and perfumer Sarah McCartney will host a perfume making workshop, and Roja Dove will be shepherding attendees through an ingredient experience. There will also be a fantastic rose masterclass hosted by Jo Fairley (she needs no introduction) and LMR-IFF Naturals. There are just so many wonderful things to get your teeth (and more important, your nose) into.

In the main hub of the fair there will be a wonderful selection of fragrance brands showcasing their olfactory creations. It’s a relaxed atmosphere that creates a wonderful opportunity to sniff and talk perfume with some of the industry’s great innovators and artists. This year you’ll be able to find Eau de Boujee, Vallense, Angela Flanders, Ostens, Maya Njie, Gallivant, and many, many more. You can find a full roundup of the brands attending here.
That’s right, the cost of attending the fair is £0, nada, nothing, niente. You can just rock up and enjoy the fair, meet fantastic brands and wonderful fragrance people without any entry fee. I think that is brilliant.
