Delhi Capitals host Mumbai Indians in a battle between two sides on the opposite ends of the points table in the 2025 seaso of the IPL on Sunday in the second game of a doubleheader at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.
DC, who are unbeaten in the ongoing campaign, will appear in front of the Capital City crowd for the first time this season after having played their earlier games at Vishakpatnam or on the road.
In the build-up to the game, MI skipper Hardik Pandya and Delhi captain Axar Patel were involved in a good-natured banter during DC’s nets session on Saturday. Hardik walked up to Axar, who was batting in the nets to joke about his cognisance with the pitch.
DC shared the clip on social media with the caption that read, “Match se pehle hi shuru hogaye (They are at it even before the game tees off)”.

“Is the wicket flat,” Hardik quizzed Axar, who had just walked into bat.
“It was my first ball,” Axar said.
“You should know this beforehand,” Hardik stated.
“What do you mean should know beforehand?” a puzzled Axar asked.
“Its’ your home ground,” said Hardik in a tongue-in-cheek manner.
“You guys got here before us. You practiced here yesterday; we just started,” joked Axar before returning to bat in the nets.
Delhi will come into the game as table-toppers with an impeccable four out of four record this season, while Mumbai sit eighth in the league with just a single win in five outings in the campaign.
Hardik would look to turn their campaign around in order for the five-time champions to stay relevant in the race for the top four, while Delhi will look to continue their purple patch that sees them in pole to make the cut for the playoffs early on in the season.
