Kesari Chapter 2 Box Office Collection Day 4: Karan Singh Tyagi’s directorial debut, Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story of Jallianwala Bagh, continues its steady run at the box office. By the end of its fourth day, the Akshay Kumar, R Madhavan, and Ananya Panday-starrer has collected Rs 34 crore net in India.
According to Sacnilk, the film earned an estimated Rs 4.50 crore on its first Monday, a fair hold after a strong weekend. Kesari Chapter 2 opened with Rs 7.75 crore on Thursday and grew over the next two days, earning Rs 9.75 crore on Friday and Rs 12 crore on Saturday, with day-to-day growth of over 25%.
The film recorded an 11.83% occupancy on Monday, with audience turnout gradually increasing throughout the day. Set in the aftermath of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre, the courtroom drama sees Akshay Kumar play lawyer C Sankaran Nair, who challenges the British Empire in court. Madhavan stars as Neville McKinley, the opposing counsel, while Ananya Panday plays Dilreet Gill.
Produced by Dharma Productions, Leo Media Collective, and Cape of Good Films, Kesari Chapter 2 hit theatres on April 18. The historical drama has been drawing attention not just for its box office numbers, but also for the critical acclaim it has received from audiences and celebrities alike.
