Dewald Brevis took a stunning catch as during the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) clash between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Wednesday.
The incident happened on the third ball of the 18th over as Ravindra Jadeja dismissed Shashank Singh.
The bowler bowledit flatter and quicker, on a length and around middle. Shashank Singh went on the back foot, clearing out his front leg away and lofted his shot towards deep mid-wicket. He had hit it hard but didn’t get the desired elevation. Dewald Brevis moved to his right in the deep and kept his eyes on the ball, remaining calm and composed. He took that catch and as soon as he went over the ropes in the momentum, he flicked the ball in the air before grabbing it again, coming back inside the field.
The third umpire was consilted as replays showed that it was fair catch.
