IPL 2025 Points Table, Orange Cap and Purple Cap after CSK vs PBKS: Punjab Kings defeated Chennai Super Kings by four wickets at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Wednesday to knock them out 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) playoff race.
Shreyas Iyer smashed an excellent fifty as PBKS overhauled the 191-run target in 19.4 overs after Yuzvendra Chahal’s hat-trick helped bowl out CSK for 190 despite Sam Curran’s 88.
With the win, PBKS jumped up into the second spot in the IPL 2025 points table as CSK stayed rooted to the bottom.

Orange Cap
Priyansh Arya snuck in the Top 10 in the batters list with most runs but it was Shreyas Iyer who finished the game in 10th spot in the Orange Cap race. The PBKS skipper smashed a 41-ball 72, with the help of five fours and four sixes, to help his side win the match.
The Top 3 or the Top 5 didn’t change with GT’s Sai Sudharsan (456 runs) leading the Orange Cap race in the ongoing 2025 edition of the IPL. RCB’s Virat Kohli is second with the help of six half-centuries, and has 443 runs to his name in 10 matches. India’s T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav is third on the list with 427 runs to his name in 10 matches for the Mumbai Indians, and he is followed by RR’s Yashasvi Jaiswal (426 runs) and GT’s Jos Buttler (406 runs).

Purple Cap
CSK’s Khaleel Ahmed picked up two wickets on the night to jump up into the Top 5 in fourth place with 14 wickets, as his teammate Noor Ahmad picked up a wicket to nose ahead with 15 scalps to his name. Punjab Kings’ Arshdeep Singh entered the Top 10 with two wickets to take his tally to 13 wickets and up into 7th place.
RCB’s Josh Hazlewood continues to lead the leading wicket-takers list. In 10 matches for RCB, he has dismissed 18 batters. Hazlewood is followed by GT pacer Prasidh Krishna (16 wickets) and DC’s Mitchell Starc rounding in fifth spot with 14 wickets.
