BTS’ Jimin, Jungkook’s Camera-Shy Moment After Military Discharge Goes Viral

The moment ARMYs around the world have been eagerly waiting for is finally here! Just one day after RM and V completed their military service, BTS members Jimin and Jungkook were officially discharged on Wednesday, June 11. The duo had enlisted together on December 12, 2023, and served their 18-month term with the Army’s 5th Infantry Division in Yeoncheon County, Gyeonggi Province. Now, with only one member left to finish his service, anticipation for BTS’ full-group reunion is at an all-time high.
Jimin and Jungkook, who enlisted together under the Army’s companion soldier or “buddy system,” served side by side in the 5th Infantry Division. Upon their discharge, they were welcomed with bouquets and heartfelt cheers. In a video circulating on social media, fans gathered near the site can be heard applauding and calling out to their favourite stars. The warm reception seemed to leave both Jimin and Jungkook visibly shy.
Unlike RM and V, Jimin and Jungkook have mostly remained out of the limelight during their military service. So, it was no surprise that they felt a bit awkward facing the cameras after so long. In the clip, Jungkook and Jimin were seen giggling while they tried to hide their faces behind the bouquets.
As the clip went viral, ARMYs started expressing their excitement about the discharge of Jimin and Jungkook. “We have waited so long for this day!!!” one commented. Another fan wrote, “They look like happy kids! So so cuteeee.” A fan said, “They are so cute.. my pookies. They have matured, but in some ways, they remain the same.” “They’re so embarrassed. Oh, how I missed my shy babies,” mentioned another ARMY.
Ahead of the return of the remaining BTS members, their agency lit up the HYBE headquarter in Yongsan in Seoul by displaying the logos of BTS and ARMY, along with the words “WE ARE BACK” on June 9. This marked a new beginning for the septet and was an emotional moment for their millions of fans, who patiently waited for nearly three years for this very moment. Except for Suga, who is scheduled to be discharged on June 21, all six members, RM, Jin, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook, have completed their mandatory service. Moreover, BTS is also set to celebrate their 12th debut anniversary on June 13 with a two-day event titled 2025 BTS FESTA at KINTEX in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province.
