Iga Swiatek entered her name in the history books on Saturday (July 12) by becoming the second player to win the Wimbledon women’s singles final with a scoreline of 6-0, 6-0. The 24-year-old player from Poland faced USA’s Amanda Anisimova in the final of the 2025 Wimbledon women’s singles on Saturday and won it without dropping a game.

The last Wimbledon women’s singles final that ended with a scoreline of 6-0, 6-0 was played in 1911. In the 1911 Wimbledon women’s singles final, the UK’s Dorothea Lambert Chambers defeated Dora Boothby 6–0, 6–0.

In the history of women’s tennis, only three Grand Slam finals have ended with a double bagel. Apart from Chambers and Swiatek, in the 1988 French Open women’s singles final, Steffi Graf also won the match with a scoreline of 6-0, 6-0. She defeated Natasha Zvereva 6–0, 6–0.

6th Slam for Swiatek

The win over Anisimova in the one-sided final helped Iga become Wimbledon champion for the first time, and she has now extended her tally of Grand Slams to six. In addition to the 2025 Wimbledon title, Iga has four French Open titles (in 2020, 2022, 2023, and 2024) and one US Open in 2022.
