Profumum Dolce Artica ~ new fragrance :: Now Smell This

Italian niche line Profumum has launched Dolce Artica, a new fragrance exclusive to Swedish men’s grooming boutique Gents.

Dolce Artica x Gents by Profumum Roma is a fresh, berry-forward gourmand fragrance created exclusively for Gents. The scent is the result of a long-standing collaboration with the Italian perfume house. This time, the focus has shifted northward—to the Swedish forest, where blueberry bushes spread between the trees and wild strawberries and raspberries grow along the forest paths. The result is Profumum Roma’s interpretation of Nordic nature, captured through the art of Italian perfumery.

The opening is bright, fresh, and almost effervescent. Lemon and mandarin provide a crisp citrus freshness, but it is the blueberry that sets the tone, leading the composition into the Swedish forest. Its fresh, slightly tart berry quality lends the fragrance a cool character, creating a natural contrast to the sweetness that slowly begins to emerge.

Wild strawberries await in the heart—significantly more intense and aromatic than common strawberries, with a deep, almost nectar-like fruitiness. Green nuances evoke leaves and the forest floor, while a touch of florality gives the berry a softer side. Meanwhile, tonka bean introduces a warm, subtle creaminess that rounds off the fresh berry notes without making the composition heavy or overly sweet.

As the fragrance settles closer to the skin, wild raspberry emerges with a drier, more tart character than cultivated raspberries. There is something green and untamed here—evoking raspberry leaves, twigs, and wild thickets—that maintains the forest atmosphere even as vanilla and sandalwood begin to soften the composition. The sweetness is present, but it lies as a soft, creamy layer beneath the fresh berries.

Profumum Dolce Artica is available in 100 ml Eau de Parfum.
