Ever since their debut in 2016, BLACKPINK has emerged as one of the leading girl groups in the South Korean music industry. Besides collecting accolades and climbing up the charts with their well-received albums and songs, the quartet of Lisa, Rose, Jennie, and Jisoo has also ranked in numerous firsts as individual artists, gaining equal recognition as soloists. With that said, Rose has already become a global sensation with her songs topping music charts for a while now.
Her latest release, APT with Bruno Mars, scripted history by becoming a chartbuster, even climbing the historic US and Global Spotify charts, followed by the UK Official Singles Chart Top 100, and Billboard Hot 100, among other achievements.
Adding another feather to her cap, the K-pop star has now made it to Time Magazine’s list of the 100 Most Influential People of 2025. The singer has been dubbed a “pioneer” on this year’s most influential list. Writing as a guest contributor, actress Lily J Collins shared her experience of meeting Rose and said, “She was so sweet and calm amid all the chaos of the cameras and the crowd, and we ended up chatting all night long about fashion, architecture, food, and travel. She immediately felt like a kindred spirit, and we’ve only grown closer since.”
Collins even called Rose a “down-to-earth individual,” who she believes is also a dynamic performer and songwriter. “She’s basically the definition of an icon and a boss. Her voice is so strong and her music is so much fun—and I love texting her every time I hear “APT.” or “Toxic Till the End” on the radio,” the actor said.
Reacting to the sweet words from the Emily in Paris star, Rose took to her Instagram Stories and penned her thoughts. “What!!!! The sweetest Lily Collins, you’re gonna make me cry!!!” In another story, the APT singer added, “What a wild thing to wake up to!!! Thank you, TIME and number ones.”
While all BLACKPINK members have been taking time off from group duties to focus on their solo careers, the women will soon reassemble to embark on a global tour kicking off in July this year.
