Lucknow Super Giants owner Sanjiv Goenka

Expressing concerns to KL Rahul after the loss.
In the aftermath of the recent SRH vs LSG match, there was a notable moment where KL Rahul, the captain of Lucknow Super Giants, engaged in what appeared to be a serious conversation with team owner Sanjiv Goenka. The match itself saw Lucknow Super Giants facing a significant defeat at the hands of SunRisers Hyderabad in the IPL 2024. Led by Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma’s powerful batting display, SRH effortlessly chased down a target of 166 runs in just 9.4 overs. This remarkable feat not only marked the fastest successful chase of a target over 100 runs in IPL history but also saw SRH scoring the highest ever runs in the first 10 overs of an IPL match.

Understandably, KL Rahul expressed his disappointment after the match, admitting, “I am at a loss for words.” Following the game, there was a visibly intense conversation between Rahul and Sanjiv Goenka, described by broadcasters as “Animated reactions from LSG camp.”
Reflecting on the match, Abhishek Sharma, one of SRH’s openers, credited his teammate Travis Head for their team’s impressive victory. Abhishek’s stellar performance of an unbeaten 78 runs off just 28 balls played a crucial role in securing the win for SRH. He particularly praised Head for his aggressive approach from the start, which alleviated pressure during the run chase.

Abhishek also shared insights into the strategic discussions during the innings break, where the Sunrisers’ bowlers highlighted the improving batting conditions. Expressing gratitude, he acknowledged the support and guidance he received from cricketing legends like Yuvraj Singh and Brian Lara, as well as his father, who served as his first coach.
