Rajasthan Royals beat Gujarat Titans by 8 wickets in their 10th league match of the IPL 2025 on Monday (April 28). The inaugural edition winners rode on a maiden IPL century by 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi (101 runs from 38 balls, 7 fours and 11 sixes) to chase down the target of 210 runs in 15.5 overs for the loss of two wickets at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
The left-handed batter from Bihar, who made his IPL debut for RR on April 19, 2025, added 166 runs in 11.5 overs for the first wicket with Yashasvi Jaiswal, who remained unbeaten on 70 runs from 40 balls.
The win over GT on Monday helped RR keep alive their chances of qualifying for the IPL 2025 playoffs.
With 6 points after 10 matches, the Men in Pink are eighth in the points table, and if they manage to win all four of their remaining league matches by a very big margin and not more than three teams finish with more than 14 points, then RR will have a chance to finish in the top four and qualify for the playoffs.
But if RR lose even one of their remaining four league matches, then it won’t be possible for them to qualify for the playoffs.
RCB have already secured 14 points in IPL 2025, and two teams – the Mumbai Indians and the Gujarat Titans – have 12 points each to their credit with four more matches to play.
Royals’ upcoming matches
Rajasthan Royals will face five-time champions Mumbai Indians in their 11th league match of IPL 2025 on May 1 at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. The Royals will then travel to Kolkata to take on defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens on May 4.
RR’s 13th league match is scheduled to take place at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on May 12 against Chennai Super Kings, and the first-ever IPL champions will face Punjab Kings at Sawai Mansingh Stadium on May 16.
