Emraan Hashmi is gearing up for his next film, Ground Zero. The film is all set for release on April 25. And ahead of the official release, the makers are organising a red carpet screening in Srinagar after 38 years. The actor shared photos from Srinagar. This special screening is dedicated to the Border Security Force, with soldiers and officers attending as guests of honour. The event stands as a tribute to their courage and sacrifice, values at the heart of the film.
Taking to his Instagram handle, Emraan Hashmi shared a selfie with director Tejas Deoskar and wrote, “Groundzero touchdown .. landmark day : first Red carpet movie screening after 38 years in #srinagar, this is a special movie screening to honour BSF soldiers and their officers.” In Ground Zero, Emraan Hashmi essays the role of Commandant Narendra Nath Dhar Dubey, who led a two year long investigation. Based on the BSF’s most daring operation in the last 50 years, the film brings to life a true story of service, sacrifice, and strength, set against the backdrop of Kashmir.

The actor spoke about undergoing months of training and following a strict diet to step into the shoes of his character. He further mentioned that the role was not just about wearing the uniform but earning it too. The trailer of Ground Zero was unveiled on April 7. It took us inside the world of the real-life hero who spearheaded one of the most audacious anti-terror missions in the history of Border Security Force. His operation, which led to the elimination of the infamous terrorist Ghazi Baba, was hailed as the BSF’s finest mission in five decades and earned him the prestigious Kirti Chakra in 2005.
Talking about his prep-work, Emraan said, “To do justice to the story and the uniform, Emraan went through a complete physical and mental transformation. “Preparing to play an army officer a BSF Commandant was one of the most intense and humbling journeys of my career. These men operate in the harshest terrains, under constant threat, and yet carry an unshakable sense of duty.”

Directed by Tejas Deoskar, the film is co-produced by Kassim Jagmagia, Vishal Ramchandani, Sundeep C Sidhwani, Arhan Bagati, Talisman Films, Abhishek Kumar, and Nishikant Roy.
