The placement season at IIT Delhi is not even half way through and the institute has already began to achieve milestones. The Undergraduate students at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi have received over 850 unique job offers so far in the ongoing placement season, marking the highest number in the past three years.
According to a statement released by IIT Delhi, this figure surpasses previous years — with 781 offers in 2024, 768 in 2023 and 712 offers in 2022. With the placement season still underway, the number of offers is expected to rise further in the coming weeks.
Google, Microsoft Among Top Recruiters At IIT Delhi
This year’s top recruiters making double-digit offers include leading firms such as American Express, Barclays, Boston Consulting Group (BCG), BlueStone, Deutsche India, Google, Graviton Research Capital, Meesho, Microsoft, Oracle, PayU, Squarepoint Capital, and Texas Instruments.
Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) have also shown strong participation, with organisations like Bharat Petroleum, Hindustan Petroleum, Petronet LNG, Indian Oil Corporation, and the Centre for Development of Telematics recruiting undergraduate students from the institute.
In addition, over 40 international offers were extended to UG students by top companies based in countries such as Japan, the Netherlands, South Korea, Taiwan, the UAE, the UK, and the US.
Nearly 30% Graduates Ditched Campus Placements In 2024
An exit survey conducted by IIT Delhi revealed that around 30% of the graduates from 2024 batch chose alternative career paths outside of campus placements. These included 7% venturing into entrepreneurship or startups, 6% opting for higher education, and 17% preparing for competitive examinations such as the civil or engineering services. A similar trend is anticipated among the 2025 graduating class.
