RajKummar Rao On Reuniting With Shraddha Kapoor: ‘Jahan Hum Dono Ki Zaroorat Hogi…’

RajKummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor’s horror comedy, Stree 2, emerged as one of the biggest blockbusters of Indian cinema. Helmed by Amar Kaushik, the film was released in August last year. It also featured Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee and Aparshakti Khurana. Recently, during an interview, the Badhaai Do actor opened up about reuniting with Shraddha Kapoor in their upcoming projects.
Speaking to Filmygyan, RajKummar said, “If there’s a story jahan hum dono ki zaroorat hogi and hum dono ko wo kirdaar pasand aata hai, kahaani pasand aati hai, then we would of course work together.”
The film was a sequel to the 2018 film Stree and is a part of Maddock Film’s horror-comedy universe. It also featured RajKummar and Shraddha in the lead roles.
Stree 2 follows Vicky and his friends as they encounter a supernatural threat in the town of Chanderi. This time, the village is haunted by Sarkata, a headless demon that abducts women with independent voices. The makers have also announced Stree 3, which will be hitting the theatres in August 2027.
Coming back to RajKummar, he is currently busy promoting his upcoming comedy entertainer film Bhool Chuk Maaf, slated to hit the screens on May 9. Directed by Karan Sharma and produced by Maddock Films, it also features celebs like Wamiqa Gabbi, Sanjay Mishra, Raghubir Yadav, Zakir Hussain and Seema Pahwa in pivotal roles.
Set in Varanasi, the film follows Rajkummar Rao’s character, Ranjan, as he attempts to gain the acceptance of Titli’s family for marriage. After the wedding date is chosen, the couple gets stuck in an endless time loop, setting the stage for a comedic story in which Ranjan struggles to break free. The film promises a lighthearted and quirky romantic comedy with a touch of fate and redemption.
Besides this, RajKummar will also be seen in the comedy entertainer Toaster with actress Sanya Malhotra. The film will arrive on the OTT giant Netflix this year. He also has a gangster drama film, Maalik, in his kitty.
Talking about Shraddha, she was last seen in the film Stree 2. The actress is yet to announce her next project.
