Shubman Gill is leading Gujarat Titans in IPL 2025, and of late he has been in red-hot form as well. The 25-year-old right-handed batter from Punjab opened the innings for the Ahmedabad-based franchise on Friday, May 2, against Sunrisers Hyderabad at Narendra Modi Stadium and, with the help of 10 fours and two sixes, scored 76 runs from 38 balls. He added 87 runs in 6.5 overs for the first wicket with Orange Cap holder B Sai Sudharsan, who made 48 runs from 23 balls, and 62 runs for the second with Jos Buttler (64 runs from 37 balls).
Gill was declared out in a controversial manner by the third umpire on the last ball of the 13th over, and after getting run out, the star batter lost his cool. He was caught getting involved in a heated argument with the umpire.

GT post 224/6
Gujarat Titans were invited to bat first by SRH captain Pat Cummins on Friday, and riding on half-centuries from Gill and Buttler, the hosts posted a total of 224 runs for the loss of six wickets in 20 overs. The half-century in Ahmedabad was Gill’s third straight 50+ score in the IPL 2025. He made 90 runs from 55 balls against Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens in Kolkata on April 21 and scored 84 from 50 balls against Rajasthan Royals at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on April 28.
With a total of 465 runs to his name in 10 matches, Gill is the fourth leading run getter in IPL 2025. His GT teammate and opening partner B Sai Sudharsan tops the Orange Cap leaderboard. In 10 matches, he has amassed a total of 504 runs. The left-handed batter is followed by Mumbai Indians’ star Suryakumar Yadav (476 runs in 11 matches) and GT’s Buttler (470 runs in 10 matches).
For SRH, Jaydev Unadkat finished with figures of 3 for 35 in fours, and one GT batter each was sent back to the pavilion by Pat Cummins and Zeeshan Ansari.
