When Francois Hénin, Founder and Owner of Jovoy Paris Parfums Rares, president of the Parfetique Company, and founder of the brands Jovoy Paris and Jeroboam learned of ÇaFleureBon’s 15th anniversary landmark on March 22nd, he wanted to fete our readers and viewers with fabulous gifts including the JOVOY DREAM BOX, (there was a winner!). To continue the celebration, in Part 2, Steven Gavrielatos and Michelyn Camen curated five Jovoy Paris perfumes that represent a range of unique and high-quality Jovoy fragrances from the collection. We asked Contributor Oli Marlow (Jovoy Mayfair‘s videographer and co-creator of 21 Conduit Street) to introduce Steven’s video with brief reviews in order of their release date. –Michelyn Camen, Editor-in-Chief

Jovoy Paris Psychedelique (Jacques Flori) 2011: “Jovoy Paris Psychedelique is a powerhouse patchouli perfume. Inspired by the time Jovoy owner Francois Henin spent in Vietnam in his youth, where he worked processing and distilling raw materials. It focuses hard on his very favourite quality of (chocolatey) patchouli and reclaims its aroma from the annals of hippie history – where it was often worn to cover body odour – presenting it instead as a complex and luxurious sillage. -Oli Marlow

Jovoy Paris Les Jeux Sont Faits (Amelie Bourgeois) 2012: “Named for a French expression that translates to “the bets are placed”, Les Jeux Sont Faits typifies the early wave of Jovoy’s perfumes perfectly. It is big, it’s loud and it’s kind of outrageous but it also nails its brief perfectly – an olfactory portrait of a 1950’s high roller who wasn’t afraid to bet big, drink large and defend his honour with his fists. Amelie Bourgeois painted this rich human soup with rum, tobacco, amber and cumin”.- Oli Marlow

Jovoy Paris Remember Me (Cecile Zarokian) 2018: “A chai latte, served amongst frangipani flowers” is how I’ve always described Cecile Zarokian’s Remember Me but, in all honesty it’s far more nuanced and layered than that. The perfumer’s command of gourmand elements (vanilla, condensed milk) defines the heart and base but there’s also the unique subtle shifts in spicing (from cardamom to ginger), the dryness of her tea accord and just how unctuous her frangipani feels with all those thick, sweet elements under it.” -Oli Marlow

Jovoy Paris 21 Conduit St (Oli Marlow & Marie Schnirer) 2020: “A collaboration between the independent perfumer Marie Schnirer and myself, 21 Conduit St was conceived primarily as a riff on a modern fougere – aromatic and impactful, slightly fruity and with a long, smooth vetiverol heavy drydown. It contains two excellent qualities of lavender, a slight hashish note from a stunning Javanese vetiver and Schnirer’s rhubarb accord which powers the heart of the fragrance“.-Oli Marlow

Jovoy Paris Musc Pallas (Vanina Murraciole) 2023: “Vanina Murraciole has already proven time and again that she knows how to deliver tangible shimmer and drive compositions with musks (just smell any of her work for Jeroboam), but in Musc Pallas, Vanina Murriacole makes something that feels a bit more gauzy and silky. It’s a powdery musk perfume that feels weightless and alluring with its iris tones, hints of peach and the wooly comfort of ambrette seeds.”-Oli Marlow
