With Parth Samthaan stepping in as ACP Ayushmaan on CID 2, things are heating up like never before. The actor’s no-nonsense portrayal has shaken the dynamic of the iconic team led by Daya and Abhijeet, who are still coping with the loss of their beloved ACP Pradyuman, played by Shivaji Satam.
In a recent video released by Sony Entertainment Television, Ayushmaan makes his presence felt with his intense declaration: “Only thing that impresses me is results.” Daya quickly assures him, “Don’t you worry ACP sir, in just a couple of days you will have the results: A dead Barbosa.” The cold response doesn’t sit well with Ayushmaan, who fires back, “You guys are CID officers, not gangsters. You just catch Barbosa. Law and order will take care of the rest.”
The friction builds further when Abhijeet defiantly says, “We will decide Barbosa’s punishment.” The tension peaks when Ayushmaan bluntly tells the team, “Kab tak ACP Pradyuman ki maut par aansu bahaaoge? Ye jo dard hai, emotions, aansu inn sabki potli bana kar office ke bahar latka kar aaya karo.” His words leave Daya and Abhijeet visibly furious.
The show now revolves around the hunt for Barbosa, the man responsible for Pradyuman’s murder. But it’s no longer just a mission—it’s personal. The emotional rift between the OG CID officers and the new leadership has set the stage for a gripping storyline.
Fans, however, are divided. While some are intrigued by the new drama, others continue to demand the return of ACP Pradyuman or the promotion of original characters like Abhijeet and Daya. There’s strong buzz that the makers may bring back Pradyuman’s character due to popular demand, but there’s been no official confirmation yet.
CID 2 marks the revival of one of Indian television’s longest-running shows, which originally went off air in 2021. The new season airs every Saturday and Sunday at 10 pm on Sony Entertainment Television.
