Vaibhav Suryavashi is playing for Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2025, and on Monday (April 28), during his team’s 10th league match against Gujarat Titans at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, the 14-year-old cricketer entered his name in the history books by becoming the youngest batter to score a half-century in the IPL. He crossed the 50-run mark with a four on the last ball of the fifth over bowled by Washington Sundar. He needed only 17 balls to score his maiden IPL fifty and has so far hammered three fours and six sixes.
By scoring his first IPL fifty at the age of 14 years and 32 days, Vaibhav broke Riyan Parag’s record, who scored a half-century for Rajasthan Royals in the IPL at the age of 17 years and 175 days. Sanju Samson is third on the list (18 years, 159 days).
The 17-ball fifty on Monday helped Suryavanshi score the fastest fifty of IPL 2025, the second-fastest fifty for RR in the IPL (after the 13-ball fifty by Yashasvi Jaiswal vs KKR in 2023) and the fastest fifty in the IPL against the Ahmedabad-based franchise.
